once upon a time

that once upon a time there may have been
a lighter world upon which tears could grow:
and growing, heal an aching heart below
which shyly blooms into a sky unseen;
and in its twining tendrils evergreen
are sown the seeds where sadness learns to know
the gentle joy that flowers when warm hands flow
over a maiden’s softly naked skin –
then so we dream that there may be some once
upon a time
: which grows a world so light
that in our dreams where milk and honey runs
no hearts will need to hurt, and in the rains
that wash over your face there is a flight
which purifies all lands in these terrains.
