Sonnet Parody

Iambic pentameter’s hard to follow

so I think, I won’t try to attempt it

I think it makes such poems sound hollow

and who wants to be told their poetry’s sick?

The Rhyme. Another problem: to be sure,

it makes such poems rather good to hear,

but what’s the use if one fails rhyme’s allure?

I quake and shiver down my spine in fear:

While also considering patterned-lines

or is it line patterns, four four four two

but Petrarch says four four three three, and mines

of Metaphor to draw from, different schools

of thought, and remember: sonnets have fourteen lines.
